The Windsor Percussion Ensemble is as a chamber music consortium designed to promote hands on experience and exposure to the repertoire of the percussion ensemble, its major composers, and historical significance. 

The ensemble specializes in contemporary and chamber percussion compositions from the classic 1930s early percussion works by Cage, Harrison and Chavez to new works by Brett Dietz, Susan Powell, and Nathan Daughtrey. The ensemble also explores diverse musics from, or influenced by, different cultures throughout the world as well as improvisation, jazz and popular music.

The group has made appearances on the Canadian Association for Music Therapy Conference, and the Percussive Arts Society Ontario Day of Percussion as well as regular appearances on the School Music's concert series and performances at the University's CAW Center for the greater university community and secondary students.

This ensemble is open to BMus, BMT, and BA students enrolled in the percussion studio courses 33-367, 33-337, and 33-267. The ensemble is directed by Dr. Nicholas Papador.
